Born in 1929 in New York City, A famouse graphic designer best know for the “i love NY” design and also the famouse Bob Dylan poster.
Milton Glaser’s work is identified by his simplisity and originality. He has composed an increasingly wide diversity of projects ranging from his countless book and album covers, advertisements to direct mail pieces and magazine illustrations. He played a major role in the design and was a founder of “New York Magazine”.
In his lifetime career he has designed over 300 posters for different clients ranging from completely different Fields from music, theater to film and institutional and civic enterprise.
Glaser has had a major impact on contemporary styles and has won many awards for his work, He is also a member of the AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale).
Glaser even has his own Type Face called “Glaser Stencil”
This is one of my favorite Milton Glaser Prints, it is a musical portrait of Nina Simone.
I love the way every single piece he does is different, he doesn’t just have one significant style. This sparsific portrait caught my eye purely because of the simplicity of the pencil strokes and then the background with only two watercolour shades.
